Pol Taburet’s work revolves around the question of passage. Drawing on a variety of influences, from voodoo mythology (a mixture of magical practices, witchcraft, and Christian elements) to contemporary references and the themes of classical painting, his creations take us on a journey into a liminal world of metamorphoses and chimeras. The artist paints large canvases using a mixture of alcohol-based paints, acrylics, and oil pastels. In his sculptural work, he creates pieces in bronze and resin. Through these different techniques and media, Pol Taburet has constructed a body of work imbued with his own personal mythology, a dialogue between different eras and cultures.
Born in Paris (France) in 1997, Pol Taburet graduated from the École des Beaux-arts de Cergy in painting and ceramics. He lives and works in Paris.
