Myriam Lefkowitz
Born in 1980.
Lives and works in Paris (France).
An artist choreographer, Myriam Lefkowitz's work has centred since 2010 on questions of attention and perception, through a range of immersive devices that require a direct relationship between spectators and artists.
Her work was presented at the 55th Venice Biennale (‘Oo’, Lithuanian and Cypriot Pavilions); at the CAC Vilnius; La Galerie (Noisy-le-sec); Med15 (Medellin); Le Mouvement (Biel); Creative Time Summit (Stockholm); Situations (Bristol); Performing Opposition (Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro), and the Kadist Foundation (Tokyo and San Francisco), etc.
For the past two years, she has been working on a collaborative project entitled ‘La Piscine’ (Swimming Pool), bringing together different practices of attention born from the research of eight artists, infiltrating and shared in public spaces. ‘La Piscine’ was invited to intervene at the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers; Survival Kit in Riga; Bergen Assembly; Kaaiteater in Brussels, and at the Garage in Moscow.
She is currently commissioned by ‘If I Can't Dance I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution’ (Amsterdam).
In 2018, Myriam Lefkowitz and Simon Ripoll-Hurier started developing a collaboration around the practice of ‘remote viewing’, which will take the form of a film.
