Abdullah Miniawy

Born in 1994 in Yanbu.
Abdullah Miniawy is an Egyptian artist, author, singer, composer and 3D designer.

Abdullah was awarded a Victoire du Jazz for his album Le Cri du Caire in 2023. His prolific projects have resulted in more than 700 performances around the world, where Miniawy has shared the stage with artists such as Erik Truffaz, Kamilya Jubran, Yom, Médéric Collignon, Aly Talibab, A Filetta, Hvad, Ziúr, Zuli, Simo Cell and Maurice Louca. Abdullah Miniawy has performed at major international festivals and venues, including the Venice Biennale, the Festival d'Avignon, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Louvre, the Rewire Festival (The Hague) and the CTM Festival (Berlin), the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), the Haus der Kunst (Munich), the MAO Oriental Art Museum (Turin) and the Volksbühne (Berlin).

As an author, Abdullah Miniawy's texts have resonated deeply throughout the Middle East since the Arab Spring. They have been displayed in public spaces in Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria. In early 2022, he published his first collection of stories, ‘Extinguishing The City of Light’.
