18:45-19:45 Listening to Abdullah Miniawy's album Peacock Dreams and live performances by trombonists Robinson Khoury and Jules Boittin

19:45-21:00 Set by STILL, the latest project by Milan-based artist Simone Trabucchi, whose inspiration comes from discovering the stories that link his home town of Vernasca to Ethiopia and Jamaica.

PPL Songs / Aghani El Khalq أغاني الخلق (aka People Songs), is a new platform founded by Abdullah Miniawy dedicated to voice. Beyond a classic label working for a community of visionary artistsxs and cultural actorxs, the PPL Songs project takes the form of events aimed at rethinking the way music is produced, disseminated and received by the public.

Abdullah Miniawy is an Egyptian artist, author, singer, composer and 3D designer.

Abdullah was awarded a Victoire du Jazz for his album Le Cri du Caire in 2023. His prolific projects have resulted in more than 700 performances around the world, where Miniawy has shared the stage with artists such as Erik Truffaz, Kamilya Jubran, Yom, Médéric Collignon, Aly Talibab, A Filetta, Hvad, Ziúr, Zuli, Simo Cell and Maurice Louca. Abdullah Miniawy has performed at major international festivals and venues, including the Venice Biennale, the Festival d'Avignon, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Louvre, the Rewire Festival (The Hague) and the CTM Festival (Berlin), the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), the Haus der Kunst (Munich), the MAO Oriental Art Museum (Turin) and the Volksbühne (Berlin).

As an author, Abdullah Miniawy's texts have resonated deeply throughout the Middle East since the Arab Spring. They have been displayed in public spaces in Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria. In early 2022, he published his first collection of stories, ‘Extinguishing The City of Light’.

Selim Sameh is DJ from Egypt.

Based in Paris, Selim Sameh, aka DJ $, builds hybrid sets halfway between rap, bass, deconstructed club and IDM. He takes listeners on a journey through his diverse musical influences.

Exploring vernacular worlds of sound and image, Milan-based artist and musician STILL (Simone Trabucchi) defines his practice by a uniquely nomadic approach.

Previously known as Dracula Lewis, a project developing his personal vision of ‘folk’ music, he has amassed a number of releases on various labels, while managing Hundebiss Records.

His new name, STILL, follows the discovery of stories linking his hometown of Vernasca to Ethiopia and Jamaica, explored as part of his visual arts project Invernomuto, in-depth fieldwork that led to ‘Negus’: a series of sculptures, installations, a book and a full-length experimental documentary, screened at Unsound 2016.
