Nino Kapanadze
Born in 1990 in Tbilisi, Géorgie
Navigating between the abstract and the figurative, Nino Kapanadze plays on the effects of emptiness and transparency. She depicts blurred, evanescent figures, in motion or suspended in time. Her painting adopts a sensory approach grounded in mystery and intuition. Using this zone of confusion between the universal and the personal, the abstract and the real, Nino Kapanadze seeks to develop a singular vision. With her evanescent palette, she develops a highly personal, dreamlike aesthetic that draws on literary and poetic references. She is also inspired by the iconic painters of English Romanticism, with their paintings of misty, ethereal atmospheres. “As a child, I remember looking at John Constable’s clouds for hours on end,” she explains. “I was totally fascinated by him, and later by Turner.”
Born in 1990 in Tbilisi (Georgia), Nino Kapanadze holds a Diplôme National Supérieur d’Arts Plastiques (MFA) from the Beaux-arts de Paris and a Master’s degree from Sciences Po Paris. She lives and works in Paris.
