Ryan Gander created several alchemy boxes using the principle of the sealed box. The contents of each of them, meticulously inventoried and classified, are inscribed on the adjacent wall. Describe the effect of watching a Godard film - (Alchemy box #13) contains elements related to time, duration, movement, and still life. The work is entirely black, except for a permanently lit light-emitting diode. The meaning Ryan Gander has tried to give to these works seems as hermetic as their content. They could be considered as archives of a present moment, of an instant.
