The multidisciplinary work of Ser Serpas begins from discarded objects that bear the traces of their past use, disparate elements that the artist assembles to create a new form of harmony. Serpas considers this phase of composition to be crucial to her work, as the objects acquire a new importance when brought together. Her artistic practice is also expressed through poetry, or in paintings of fragmented and naked bodies. Her work questions notions of identity, intimacy, and sexuality.
Born in 1995 in Los Angeles, USA, Ser Serpas studied at Columbia University in New York, then at the Geneva University of Art and Design. She lives and works between Tbilisi, Georgia, and Paris.
