Peter Coffin’s protean work is based on photography, video, and drawing. The artist also creates installations and produces music. Through his interest in epistemology, he likes to challenge science by exploring alternative logics and irrational ways of thinking. He often works on optical phenomena in works that play with the viewer’s sensory perceptions by inviting them to look at banal objects from a new, often playful and poetic angle. A lover of pastiche, he regularly calls on references from art history that he appropriates and reinterprets.
