Didier Marcel

Born in 1961 in Besançon, France

Didier Marcel’s work is focused mainly on sculpture. He creates installations bringing together various objects, sometimes taken from reality, which he reproduces on a smaller scale in other materials to play with the viewer’s perception. His often surprising sculptures question our relationship and interactions with the surrounding landscape.

Born in 1961 in Besançon, Didier Marcel graduated from the Institut national des hautes études en arts plastiques in Paris. He continued his training with Pontus Hulten, Sarkis, and Daniel Buren. He now lives and works in Dijon, where he also teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art et de Design.
