Anna Bella Papp
Born in 1988 in Chisineu-Cris, Roumanie
Anna Bella Papp works in clay, an ancient material that evokes craftsmanship. She models it in the form of bas-reliefs in an easel painting format, blurring the line between painting and sculpture. She began her career with abstract, often geometric works that echo the modernist aesthetic in painting and reinterpret it through the depth of relief. Figuration entered her work in 2013 on the occasion of the Offspring 2013 exhibition at De Ateliers in Amsterdam.
Born in 1988 in Chișineu-Criș, Anna Bella Papp studied in Romania before moving to Amsterdam, where she now lives and works.
