Lou Fauroux
Her queer experience is integrated into a multi-layered narrative and representation. Lou Fauroux poetically reclaims the images she grew up with, transforming them and constructing new mythologies.
Lou Fauroux graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2022, after an exchange at the ECAL (Lausanne, Switzerland). Her video work began in the pornographic industry in California in independent venues. In 2020, she won the MK2 short film competition in editing for ThisIsHowTheWorldEnds. In 2021, her film TakeMe2UrDreamz became part of the FRAC Poitou-Charentes collection. In 2022, she joined Artagon Pantin and took part in a number of group exhibitions, including "Bureau du sacré" (Grandes Serres de Pantin), "Vidéos" (Galerie Eva Vautier, Nice) and "Final Girls" (DOC!, Paris). She is a finalist for the SCAM Prix Émergence (2022), winner of the Crous "Court 2050" competition (2021) and the AG2R "Jeune création artistique" grant (2019).
In 2023, she opened her first solo show "WhatRemains" at the Crous gallery, then exhibited at "100% L'EXPO" at La Villette. Her film WhatRemains, Genesis premiered at Cinéma du Réel (2023) before being shown at other festivals (Thailand, Spain, New York). She created the experimental electronic music label FÆRIES, whose first evenings took place at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris, 2023), the Station Nord (Aubervilliers, 2023) and the Sample (Bagnolet, 2023).
