On the occasion of the launch of the first issue of the new Art and Social Sciences journal EKES (EarthKeeping EarthShaking) dedicated to Ecofeminism(s) and contemporary art, Rozenn Canevet, art historian, Camille Froidevaux-Metterie, philosopher, co-directors of the book, Anaïs Tondeur, artist and graphic designers A&A (Amélie Blachère and Antoine Sigur) with Brice Domingues will be in discussion with Madeleine Planeix Crocker, associate curator at Lafayette Anticipations.
"EarthKeeping EarthShaking" takes the title of the 13th issue of the American magazine Heresies: A feminist publication on art and politics. The editorial adventure of the Heresies Collective, founded in New York in 1976, lasted from 1977 to 1993. To call the research programme EKES (EarthKeeping EarthShaking) today is to pose the hypothesis of a renewal of the world's habitability from the point of view of artists in a convergent perspective of political history, environmental humanities and art history.
It is also a desire to question another relationship with the living world, no longer considered as a whole but as a multitude. A relationship that is more collaborative than separative in order to encourage exchange, transmission and otherness. In contrast to a relationship of predation, domination and hierarchisation, as much on natural resources as on women, the EKES research programme supports a posture of the artist who no longer imposes a way of seeing and doing, but who will revisit his or her living environment, through his or her exteriority, otherness and autonomy.
With contributions from : Raphaël Cuir, Rozenn Canevet, Virginie Maris, Julie Crenn, Benedikte Zitouni, Marie Léa Zwahlen, Myriam Ziehli, Tiphaine Calmettes, Camille Froidevaux-Metterie, Anaïs Tondeur, Marine Legrand, Julie Michel, Madeleine Planeix-Crocker, Leïla Barkaouï, Julie Gorecki, Myriam Bahaffou.
