Noé Soulier
Noé Soulier's work explores the body and movement through multiple techniques. He develops choreographic writing at the intersection between practical gesture and danced movement.
His theoretical research proposes different conceptions of movement aiming to multiply the experience of the body. He also experiments with the place of choreography in different contexts: museums, architectural places and natural spaces. In this way he develops an approach that is both conceptual and deeply rooted in movement. Noé Soulier studied at P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels) and obtained a master's degree in philosophy at the Sorbonne University. His creations have been presented by, among others, the Festival d'Automne in Paris, the Centre Pompidou, the Théâtre de la Ville, the Théâtre National de Chaillot, Performa, Kaaitheater Brussels, Sadler's Wells (London), Tanz im August (Berlin), Tanzquartier Vienna and the Teatro Municipal do Porto. At the same time, he created for the Ballet du Rhin, the Ballet de Lorraine, the Los Angeles Dance Project and the Opéra de Lyon. In 2020, he becomes director of the Centre national de danse contemporaine in Angers.
