He highlights the joys and burdens of love in order to develop an art of intimacy which he displaces. He positions himself in the void between a society that values happiness and loyalty, and a system where even demonstrations of love are part of a financial economy. He often uses the symbols of childhood as a language in order to “restore the human dimension of our impulses.” He develops an aesthetics of emotion through which to delicately touch the viewer.
