Artist of the Collection

Ute Mueller

Born in 1978 in Graz, Autriche

Ute Müller's installations make use of the interaction between object and space to rethink the modalities of presentation and perception of the work of art. By integrating traditional exhibition media into her installations, the artist blurs the boundary between the work and its display device. Influenced by Brancusi, Müller initiates a reflection on the social dimension of the exhibition: by questioning the relationship between the work and its base, the artist rethinks the relationship between the object, the audience, and the space.

Born in 1978 in Graz, Ute Müller studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna then at the Royal College of Art in London. She lives and works in Vienna.
