This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of vocal expression, such as breathing, posture and timbre. Games and improvisation will help you experiment with/explore the many aspects of your voice.
Winner of an Aware award in 2018, Violaine Lochu has performed internationally, including in France at the Centre Pompidou (Extra Festival, 2018), Palais de Tokyo (25th anniversary of the D.C.A contemporary art network, 2017), Parade for FIAC, 2017 and Jeu de Paume; in Germany at the Munich Kunsterein, and in Tunisia at the Théâtre National Le 4ème Art (La Voix Est Libre Festival, 2015). Her work has featured in many group shows, including Tous de Sangs Mêlés, (MAC VAL, France, 2017), Reconstructing Eden (Ferenczi Museumi Centrum, Hungary, 2018) and Something More Than a Succession of Notes (Bétonsalon centre for art and research, France / Justina M. Barnicke Galler, Canada, 2013).

Etablie à Montreuil, Violaine Lochu a pour fil conducteur le langage et la voix.
Dans ses performances, vidéos, pièces radiophoniques, elle croise ses propres recherches vocales avec une relecture libre de différentes traditions écrites ou orales (mythes, contes, chansons populaires…), des réflexions théoriques (nourries de psychanalyse, de linguistique, de sociologie…), et un matériau sonore recueilli lors des nombreuses rencontres auxquelles sa pratique donne lieu. A chacune de ses interventions, Violaine Lochu explore tout le spectre et toutes les possibilités esthétiques de sa voix, y compris les plus inattendues, pour tenter de l’emmener vers un au-delà du dicible.
