PLAYGROUNDS Workshop

Hours: 10am-12pm* / 2pm-5pm
This workshop invites children to design and create playgrounds. The three-day workshop consists of different stages of design and creation: large-scale drawings, model-making, the establishment of rules, and the assembling of rubber forms, etc.
Based on an objective that’s open to interpretation, children are free to re-appropriate space, forms and colours in order to re-invent the principles and usages that define the concept of ‘playing’ and ‘play area’. Each child produces his/her own logbook as a memento of this collective creative experience.
A graduate of the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, Lily Sato, born in 1987, began a collaboration with the French artists collective (LA) HORDE in 2014. Since then, she has worked as a costume designer and scenographer on a number of different projects and events: music videos, short films and plays. A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels, La Cambre (Brussels), Marine Peyraud, born in 1990, designs fabrics and print designs across a variety of domains: fashion, lifestyle and video. In 2012, Marine and Lily co-founded Studio Bankrupt with which, over the course of 5 years, they have worked on different projects at the crossroads of art and design. Together, they have designed a new workshop – PLAYGROUNDS – a special creation for Studiolo and its public!
The Studiolo is a space for experimentation devoted to the arts and open to all members of the public. Artists from the worlds of the visual arts, performance, design and fashion are invited to design innovative and exciting practical workshops. The members of the public participate, exchange and collaborate according to the modus operandi in operation for each workshop. Different tools, materials and skills are used, culminating in an original co-production.
Registration for the 3 days.
Fees:
Full rate: 80 euros
Reduced rate: 50 euros
The reduced rate applies to jobseekers, social welfare recipients, persons with disabilities, asylum seekers and refugees.
*A childminding service for the lunch break can be arranged.

Together, they have designed a new workshop – PLAYGROUNDS (2018) – a special creation for the Studiolo and its public!
A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels, La Cambre (Brussels), Marine Peyraud is an independent textile designer. She designs fabrics and print designs across a variety of domains: fashion, lifestyle and video.
In 2015, Marine joined the team at Nelly Rodi, an innovation and creativity consultancy agency. In parallel, she developed a number of collaborations with visual artists, musicians, dancers and directors (Alexandre Lavet, Flavien Berger, Pablo Padovani…). The projects she has been involved with bear testimony to her artistic practice, which may be said to combine artistic direction, design and fabrication, all of which showcase the potential of textiles as a creative medium.
Finally, attentive to the theoretical and educational dimensions of the career or profession of designer, Marine regularly visits art schools and other structures in order to transmit and raise questions on a collective basis about the issues and challenges facing her discipline.

Lily Sato is a graduate of the École des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg.
In 2014, she began a collaboration with the French artists collective (LA)HORDE. The three member artists – Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel – strive to develop their practice through directing and producing films, video installations, choreography and performance. Lily participated in a number of different projects, and played an important role in the direction, design and production of costumes and accessories, as well as playing a part in the writing of plays and stage design.
Since then, Lily has worked as a costume designer and scenographer for different events: music clips, short films, and plays, with the constant desire to apply her practice to new fields of experimentation and production. In 2018, she worked alongside Antonin Jenny on the project Mes Bras Connaissent, created as part of the Festival XS at the Théâtre National de Belgique in Brussels.
