A conversation between boxing writer Aya Cissoko and researcher Myriam Mellouli, based on literary and film stories of boxing.

Their views and voices trace the journeys of boxers who have had to fight in the ring within their society, individuals who did not come to boxing by chance.

To extend the night, don't miss Mélissa Guex's performance DOWN (single version) at 8pm.
Myriam Mellouli, associate researcher at Laboratoire 3L.AM (Le Mans Université) has been specialising in literary and artistic representations of boxing since 2017.

After a dissertation on the aesthetics of survival in boxing literature (ENS Lyon) in 2018, she defended her thesis in 2023 entitled ‘Le film de boxe (1891-2023): le combat d'un genre’ (The boxing film (1891-2023): the struggle of a genre).

She is currently pursuing her research into sports films and the concepts of intersectionality, representation and visibility.

Aya Cissoko is a former boxing champion, Sciences Po graduate, lecturer, author and actress.

She has published Danbé (2011) and N'ba (2016) with Calmann-Lévy, and Au nom de tous les tiens (2022) with Éditions du Seuil.
